Eric made a name for himself as a prep standout at state powerhouse Hartland Arrowhead High School. During his senior season he made an astonishing 105 tackles from his defensive end position. He was named to the Wisconsin all-state team and was also named as the State’s Defensive Player of the Year.
He fielded multiple scholarship offers and eventually settled into a spot with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Zilisch was a part of a great run by the Hawkeyes when they made appearances in both the Outback Bowl and the Orange Bowl.
Eric grew up idolizing the great pass-rusher Derrick Thomas and is a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens.
He feels the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be suited to play himself in a movie.
Eric is full of fury on the field but don’t let it fool you, off the field he is actually a very shy guy!
