Wolfpack Look to Clinch Playoff Spot Saturday

The Wolfpack defense harassed Slaughter quarterback Russ Michna in the first matchup at the Coliseum. The Wisconsin Wolfpack (6-5) are hoping to clinch the final Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) playoff spot Saturday night when they host the Chicago Slaughter (11-0) at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The game begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the Coliseum ticket office.

The Slaughter have won the previous two meetings between the teams. Two weeks ago, Chicago beat the Wolfpack 67-22 at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The first time the teams met back on March 21 at the Coliseum, the Wolfpack gave the Slaughter all they could handle, eventually falling 40-36.

A win puts the Wolfpack in the CIFL playoffs and gives them a lot of confidence going in to the first round playoff game against the Slaughter. A loss means the Wolfpack either need to beat the Wheeling Wildcats in Wheeling, West Virginia, or need the Rock River Raptors (6-5) to lose to the Marion Mayhem (8-2) next week .
